Song of the Day: Carmen Reece - "Right Here" (Dave Aude Remix)

The Brit School has nurtured the talents of several of my favorite recent female Vocalists - Amy Winehouse, Imogen Heap, and Adele - to name a few. Up next is Carmen Reece, a new discovery by Mark Feist (Destiny's Child "Emotion," and Jennifer Lopez "Love Don't Cost A Thing.") With that kind of pedigree, it's not a surprise that her American debut single "Right Here" is an incredible slice of r&b pop. Carmen has an incredible voice that soars about the contemporary electro/urban styled production. The vocals also translate well to the clubs thanks to remixes by Jason Nevins, DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, and our preference Dave Aude. Watch out for Carmen's debut CD

Song of the Day: Sound Selektaz & Karen Danzig - "La La La La La"

The song starts slow and pretty with Karen Danzig's angelic voice singing lovely. At 30 seconds, the beat kicks in and its the hardstep europop beat banging you at 140 plus bpm. As cheesy as it might be to the critics and the underground, the song is energetic and fun. Sure the lyrics are cliche but isn't pop music supposed to be fun - and isn't dance music supposed to make you want to dance? In those two regards, "La La La La La" succeeds as a fun pop dance record to keep you moving this summer.

Song of the Day: Buraka Som Sistema - "IC19"

Imagine MIA mixing her aggressive vocal stylings with retro rave beats and you got an idea of what Buraka Som Sistema. The downbeat intro is just a teaser for the madness that kicks in. The heavy beats give way for some old skool fun that will make you want to break out the glowsticks and listen to SL2 records! "IC19" is the follow up to "Sound of Kuduro" which buzzed all over British dancehall friendly floors earlier this year. Watch out for the release of "IC19" on July 20th and for their bootleg remix of Lykke Li’s "Dance Dance Dance" which is gaining buzz as well.
